Santa Cruz Drive and Overnight

Yosemite Porsche Club invites you to participate in a three-day driving experience. You will drive scenic filled, exhilarating roadways offering unique perspectives of an area many of you have travelled over the years and maybe not fully enjoyed

Friday October 9th

The trip starts at a local Starbuck’s where the group will gather and stretch their legs before “stretching the legs” of our cars driving the curves of Corral Hollow and Tesla Roads. After which, the group will proceed to the coastal foothills where it will take Skyline Drive (Boulevard), enjoying the beautiful vistas with the sea on one side and the Silicon Valley on the other.

The narrow two-lane road curls through the tall redwoods and green fauna. San Francisco and San Jose aren’t that far away, but they might as well be on another planet. This is old-world, pre-tech California, home to genuine lumberjacks rather than bearded hipsters. -Jason Harper

If you have not experienced this ride in the past, you are in for an exhilarating driving experience that will take the group through redwood forests and beautiful vistas via twisty roads into Santa Cruz – our destination.

Once in Santa Cruz, the group will drive to the Chaminade Spa and Resort for a two night stay at a hotel that offers first-class accommodations, meals, and, importantly, some of the most spectacular views of Monterey Bay and surrounding areas.

Saturday October 10th

Saturday morning will start with time for breakfast (Chaminade will have a discounted brunch if you should decide to stay on the grounds) and afterwards a more leisurely drive through the mountains to Canepa’s in Scotts Valley. There (Pandemic Permitting) you can view investment grade classic and collector cars for sale, visit historic racing venue, and restoration center.

The group will continue the drive through the majestic Santa Cruz mountains, enjoying the scenery and some of the more challenging roads in the area. This part of the drive will end in Soquel and lunch. After lunch, the group will head south traveling the backroads towards Mount Madonna.

The drive will end as the group travels to the West and then along the coast for its return to Chaminade for dinner.

Sunday October 11th

There are no drives scheduled for Sunday and the group can stay and depart at their leisure.

• Rooms: $306.49 each night with $306.49 Deposit to register
• Dinner: $68 per person
